We have exciting roles for experienced Support Workers to join our Disability Services team working with the People We Support in Perth. As a Support Worker you will be enthusiastic, flexible and have a resilient attitude. You will be experienced in providing person centered support for people living with a disability in our community and will actively support our people to develop key lifestyle skills such as cooking & cleaning, and help them to engage with their local community and day services. You will be responsible for the provision of personal care and hygiene, as well as ensuring that all the day to day care needs of the people we support are met. You will work as part of a team supported by a dedicated Facilitator.

You will work as part of a team led by a locally based support manager. Hours of the role will depend on the needs of the program and the people we support. There is also the option of sleepover shifts which are 24 hour blocks of time.

  • Transporting customers to and from appointments, education and community activities
  • Engaging and coaching customers to learn life skills, achieve goals and embrace their culture
  • Administering Medication
  • Assisting with every day needs such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, meal preparation
  • Supporting customers with complex behaviours, mental and physical disabilities
  • Assisting with personal care (Toileting, showering, grooming, etc)

To be considered for these opportunities, you will need the following;

  • Experience working with people with a disability
  • Experience with challenging behaviours and autism support
  • Confidence in your ability to provide personal care
  • Ability to be flexible and work as part of a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Willing to undertake a National Police Check
  • Current Working with Children Check Card (or willing to obtain)
  • Current First Aid Certificate (or willing to obtain)
  • Current Driver's Licence and own vehicle
  • Available to work a combination of shifts, some on short notice including mornings, afternoons, night shift, active sleep overs, weekends and public holidays

Desirable, not essential for the role

  • Certificate III or IV in individual support, disability, aged care, nursing, community services, or similar
