We are currently seeking passionate and committed Support Worker to provide innovative, flexible, person centred support for a young male adult living with a disability in our community.
The role:
- Mentoring and skill development
- Assisting with coaching independent life skills such as cooking and cleaning
- Providing 24-hour support to the customer
- Helping our customer to engage with their local communities and culture through access to Community Participation Programs and recreational activities
- Administering and managing medication
What you need to be successful in this role:
- Be willing to be available to work a 24/7 rotating roster which includes availability to work the sleep over shift
- Previous experience supporting young people with a disability
- Experience working with people who have a range of behavioural concerns and/or trauma
- Emotional Intelligence with the ability to listen and adapt/be flexible where required
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Current Drivers licence
- Current First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
- Strong professional boundaries
